Service Projects

Fulfilling Our Mission

Special Olympics

Special Olympics occurs annually for all Cartersville City Schools and Bartow County Schools special needs students, and the Cartersville Service League is always in attendance to provide support.  CSL members help set up events, hand out medals to the athletes, and have given numerous hugs and high fives keeping everyone’s enthusiasm up!

Boys & Girls Club

The Cartersville Service League is a proud supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Bartow County. Each Monday afternoon throughout the school year, the ladies of the League provide a meal donated by CSL members or local businesses. Afterwards, they lead a craft activity with the club kids. This service is always a wonderful way to begin the week!

In addition, the Service League — with help from local businesses — hosts a fun day for the kids each April.

Bartow Family Resources Volunteering

Cartersville Service League members volunteer their time at the Bartow Family Resources Center each week in many ways.  Whether it’s sorting donations of clothing or supplies for new mothers, administrative work, or building upkeep, it is always a pleasure to serve such an amazing, local organization.

Newman House

On Sundays Cartersville Service League members stock the pantry at the Newman House for children in need within Bartow County.  The Newman House is a residential program for abused, neglected, and runaway youth.  The shelter is one of the numerous programs that falls under the local non-profit Advocates for Children umbrella.

Hickory Log

The Cartersville Service League is honored to serve the residents of Hickory Log Personal Care Home.Seven times throughout the year, League members prepare and deliver a full meal to feed approximately 25 men who call Hickory Log home. These meals offer not only nourishment but also connection and care to the residents.

Hickory Log, located in White, GA, provides a safe and supportive living environment for men with developmental disabilities, promoting independence and dignity in daily life.

Speakers and Meeting Donations

Twice a year, the ladies of the Cartersville Service League invite a speaker to our monthly meeting to discuss various organizations/needs in our community.

Toys for Bartow Christmas

Each year in December the League hosts a Christmas Luncheon for its’ current and sustaining members.  All attendees bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Bartow Christmas.  During the holiday season, this is a joyous way for the Ladies of the League to give back to our Bartow community.

“I am honored to lead this wonderful group of women this year and excited to see what we will do for Bartow County! ”
